Manaus is the capital of the Amazon state in Brasil founded in 1669, first habitants of this city were the Manaos, Taruma and Bares Indians it was the center of the Rubber exportation around 1900s it was also known as Paris of the tropics, in 1967 Manaus became an industrial producing electro electronics,which it is the main economy of the city, walking around Manaus you can still see the Rubber Barum houses and palaces the most spectacular building is the Opera house that is open all year long for visitors as well as the Municipal market, The Rio Negro Palace, The Indian museum, fish market, fruit and banana market.

City Tours II - 6 hours
This tour is done by speed boat or regional boat, leaving from the main port of Manaus at 9:00 am passing by the fish market and go the meeting of the waters where the negro river and Solimoes meet together forming the amazing Amazon river that flows all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
Then go upstream passing by the Costa do Catalao a floating village with about 30 families then continue to xiborena river it is a natural canal that comes from the Amazon river into the Negro river it is very interesting canals you have chance to see some monkeys, birds, Iguanas, etc.
Then arrive at the Janauary ecological park to make a catwalk to appreciate the water lilies(Vitoria Regia) lunch in a floating restaurant, after lunch you go to explore the canals and the flooded forest to see the Ceiba tree (Samauma) the biggest tree in this area it is also called home tree after this you go piranha fishing returning to Manaus about 3:00 pm
